Looking for some FREE HALLOWEEN FUN? Come to the LAS October "Scopes and Treats" Public Star Party this Saturday, October 20 at 6:30 PM at the Louisville Astronomical Society Dark Sky Site near Curby, Indiana and experience a fun evening of stargazing at the Not-So-Scary Skies over their forty acre astronomy complex.

The largest telescope in Southern Indiana and the other eyes in the skies in the LAS Roll-Off Roof Observatory are ready to show you the night sky as you have never seen it before! Dragons, Enchanted teapots, Lions, Scorpions and the Seas of the Moon will be seen by all and Chewbacca and Yoda cutouts will be there for selfies. Kids are welcome to come in costume and a prize will be given for the best alien.

There will be candy, hot chocolate, coffee and spiced tea inside the heated classroom building with his and her inside restrooms. Our LAS Ambassadors and Educators will be there to lead you on a digital tour of the Night Sky Over Curby followed by observing. rain or fully overcast skies will cancel this event.

The LAS welcomes one and all at our Star Parties. If you have a scope and are having trouble figuring out how to use it, please feel free to bring it to our public Star Party.

The LAS is an IRC ยง501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Donations are welcome.
