On April 15th, 2025 the Vera C. Rubin Observatory, the next generation survey telescope underwent his "First Photon" event and is getting ready start its science operation mode before the end of the year. The project was conceived as the Large-Scale Survey Telescope in 2003 proposing to help answer the question of the nature of Dark Matter by observing large parts of the sky reaching unprecedented sensitivities. In this presentation we will explore the technical details, its scientific goals, and take a look at the first data recently released.
