PROGRAM

Extreme Astronomy explores current record holders in astronomy. It looks at telescopes, space travel, planets, moons, mountains, stars, galaxies, galaxy clusters, and black holes in a quest to find the largest, highest, closest, furthest, hottest, coldest, most massive, brightest, darkest, and first among these various objects.


BIO 

Chuck is president of the 25,000-member Astronomical League and a past president of the Louisville Astronomical Society (1991-94). He has given more than 550 public presentations to schools and universities, societies, conventions, and other public audiences. He is a League gold-level master observer with 43 observing programs completed and has received the League's G. R. Wright Service and Master Outreach Awards. Chuck also coordinates three League observing programs, co-chaired ALCon ‘21 Virtual, and founded the League's National Young Astronomer Award in 1993. He is a past judge and lead judge for the Intel (now Regeneron) International Science and Engineering Fair and is a past and current judge for the Louisville Regional Science Fair. He has been an amateur astronomer since age seven and is a past president of the Louisville Junior Astronomical Society (1965-66).
